How Tarot Interpretation Differs.

The tarot has been around in one form or another for centuries if not thousands of years. In fact, some say that the birth place of tarot began in India with the creation of what we now know as playing cards! With as many different decks of tarot that there are and many of them having different symbols, you will start to ask yourself if the tarot interpretation differs from person to person, deck to deck or culture to culture. The basic truth of the matter is that it doesn't but the way that the cards are used, the type of deck and the person doing the reading may use the tarot interpretation differently from one another. Once you have learned to read tarot you will be able to read any tarot cards and even playing cards!

When talking about tarot interpretation the way that the cards are used or the spread that is used will play a huge role in how the cards are read. You can take one card and place it in different position in any tarot card spread and have a slightly different tarot interpretation of that card. There are likely thousands of tarot spreads and each reader has their favorite. I even know a tarot reader who uses an old Gypsy tarot spread that has 13 cards in it, that spread is not found in a book or on the internet and had been passed down to her through generations of tarot readers. The point is that she reads cards very differently than I do since she uses a different spread.

The type of tarot deck that is being used will also play a huge role in the interpretation. I have seen some tarot readers that will only use the major arcana and others that will only use the minor arcana and yet others that use playing cards instead of a tarot card deck. Playing cards will read the same way as the minor arcana with few variations due to the number of cards. Although no matter what tarot deck or playing card deck you are using and no matter where your from the interpretation is more or less the same with only slight differences that are not enough to be noticed. What will make tarot interpretation differ from person to person is the spread that they choose to use.
